Choose pure sine wave output when the connected equipment requires it. Modified sine wave output can be considered only for verified compatible loads. For B2B procurement, waveform, continuous output, starting demand and battery voltage must be checked together.
Compare output requirements
| Decision | Pure sine wave | Modified sine wave |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment requirements | Use when the equipment manufacturer specifies pure sine wave power | Use only where the equipment accepts modified sine wave power |
| Motors and electronics | Confirm starting demand and model suitability | Do not assume compatibility for fans, chargers, tools or electronic loads |
| Power selection | Check verified continuous and surge specifications | Check verified continuous and surge specifications; do not size by label wattage alone |
Check the full system
Match the inverter’s DC input to the battery bank and its AC output to the destination equipment. Battery discharge capability, runtime and installation requirements must also be confirmed. A pure sine wave output does not by itself guarantee adequate starting power or uninterrupted UPS operation.

Avoid common purchasing errors
- Do not treat all lighting or charging devices as simple resistive loads.
- Do not infer automatic voltage selection from a range of available versions.
- Do not equate model or label power with tested continuous load capability.
